Pripyat before Chernobyl accident
In the distant 1969, a plan for the construction of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant appeared. In early February 1970, this plan was put into reality – the first construction work was started, the foundation of the future atomic city of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics – the city of Pripyat was laid. Nobody could imagine that Pripyat is less than 10 years old before the accident, the largest in the history of peaceful atom.
Now there are a lot of rumors and myths about what happened in the city of Pripyat before the disaster. Eyewitnesses and people from outside tell how the accident happened at the Chernobyl nuclear power station and how many losses the city has suffered, and tourists with interest look at photos of half-ruined buildings and houses and go there on excursions.
