The development of the Cold War between the great powers of the USSR and the USA gave rise to the most incredible inventions in the 20th century. The race of two worlds forced science to step forward.
Already in 1969, the USSR built one of the most magnificent and secret objects in the post-Soviet space: Duga Radar. This is an early detection system for ballistic missiles that were expected by the United States. The arc was a huge and expensive building. The price ranged from $ 500,000 to $ 100,000,000.
One of these systems is currently located in Chernobyl, but work was stopped 33 years ago immediately after the accident at ChNPP. Because of the radiation at the facility, it was dangerous, and all the soldiers who were serving were sent to live in Moscow, forbidden to talk about everything that happened there. But why?
After 33 years, not one of those working on the Arc wants to tell the truth about the secret place.
Because of this, there were many legends in the world that they were actually engaged in the secret object of Duga. And the Americans nicknamed Duga – “Russian Woodpecker” because of the characteristic sound on the air created during the operation of the complex.
The Americans even suggested that Radar could control people. Otherwise, how can Soviet people be so conscious, organized, and not organize demonstrations of discontent on the government?
The whole world feared the Arc system. But why even today, when the USSR is no longer there, all the scientists and employees of the Radar do not want to talk? Maybe Duga is still a secret?
