Chernobyl power plant named after V. I. Lenin, ChNPP (Chornobylska nuclear power plant in Ukraine V.I. Lenina, Chaes) – a stopped nuclear power plant on the territory of Ukraine, known in connection with accident that occurred on April 26, 1986.
Official modern name State specialized enterprise The Chernobyl power plant (GSP Chernobyl NPP) The station is subordinated to Ministry of Ecology.
Currently, cancellation of station and stage of erecting a new sarcophagus over emergency 4th power unit is continuing. A new sarcophagus (called “New Safe Confinement” (NSC)) was pushed into design position at the end of 2016, project is scheduled for completion on November 30, 2020.
