Especially children with thyroid gland diseases: thyroid cancer in children as of 1994 exceeds the daughter-Bybyl period by 8-10 times; for 2 years (from 1991 to 1993), the incidence of thyroiditis increased more than 5-fold (11 cases per 1000 children), and goitre (6.5 per 10,000 children) became more frequent. The incidence of tuberculosis is growing (3 times more than the average for Ukraine), blood diseases, primarily anemia, vegetative-vascular dystonia, visual acuity, cataracts have appeared and are growing. The incidence of diseases of the digestive system has significantly increased over the past three years, including stomach ulcers, liver and pancreas diseases, kidney infections.

For those who were evacuated from the zone of Chernobyl characterized by a tendency to increase a number of chernobyl defects. When some of these children were examined in 1991, 40.6% of the children were found to be healthy. In 1993 there were 36.9% healthy.
